Rencontre avec la ministre de l’Enseignement supérieur et de la recherche à Paris

Nous avons eu le privilège de rencontrer Madame Sylvie Retailleau, ministre de l’Enseignement supérieur et de la Recherche. Cet échange nous a permis de partager notre enthousiasme quant à la qualité de la recherche académique française et la pertinence de notre venture builder dont la mission est d’accélérer la transformation de cette recherche fondamentale de grande qualité en solutions thérapeutiques accessibles au plus grand nombre de patients possibles.

MedXCell, ainsi que notre filiale Montpellier Life Sciences, opère à l’interface académique/industrie. Nous identifions ou lançons des projets de recherche commercialement viables en collaboration avec des institutions académiques et les soutenons lors d’une phase de co-design. Cette phase, qui intervient avant la création de la start-up, réduit considérablement les risques du projet. Ensuite, nous créons une nouvelle entité que nous finançons et gérons opérationnellement pendant la phase de démarrage (Seed) avant d’intégrer des co-investisseurs pour la Series A.

Ce dialogue avec Madame la Ministre nous a offert l’opportunité de renforcer notre engagement à faciliter la transformation de la recherche en innovations thérapeutiques, tout en soulignant l’importance de collaborations fructueuses entre le monde académique et l’industrie. Nous sommes reconnaissants envers Madame Sylvie Retailleau pour son soutien et nous sommes impatients de poursuivre notre mission visant à améliorer la santé et le bien-être des patients grâce à des solutions innovantes et accessibles.

We had the privilege of meeting Madame Sylvie Retailleau, ministre de l’Enseignement supérieur et de la Recherche. This exchange allowed us to share our enthusiasm for the quality of French academic research and the relevance of our venture builder, whose mission is to accelerate the transformation of this high-quality fundamental research into accessible therapeutic solutions for as many patients as possible.

MedXCell, along with our subsidiary Montpellier Life Sciences, operates at the academic/industry interface. We identify or initiate commercially viable research projects in collaboration with academic institutions and support them through a co-design phase. This phase, which occurs prior to the creation of the start-up, significantly reduces project risks. We then create a new entity that we fund and manage operationally during the Seed phase before integrating co-investors for the Series A.

This dialogue with Minister Sylvie Retailleau has provided us with the opportunity to strengthen our commitment to facilitating the transformation of research into therapeutic innovations, while emphasizing the importance of fruitful collaborations between the academic world and industry. We are grateful for Minister Sylvie Retailleau’s support and look forward to continuing our mission of improving the health and well-being of patients through innovative and accessible solutions.
